The Roachy Fund is pleased to announce Harrison Brooks has been awarded the 2021 Roachy Fund Scholarship. The Fund reviewed numerous applications from many very talented young people and felt Harrison embodied the spirit and energy of the fund’s namesake, Alan Roach.
Harrison continued to endear himself to The Roachy Fund, when he claimed “after reading your email, I screamed Yahtzee! I am honored that you chose me as this year’s recipient for the Roachy Fund Scholarship. I aspire to continue spreading Alan’s philosophy of Making Art & Playing Games as I enter college and the world beyond.â€
Harrison. an aspiring toy and game inventor and a lifelong fan of play, will be majoring in Industrial Design at Northwestern University in the Fall of 2021. He’s the inventor of ElevatorUp, a family card game, that he conceived of, designed, and brought to market the Summer of 2020. Through ElevatorUp, he met members in the toy/game industry and has been fortunate enough to work for People of Play (formerly Chicago Toy and Game Group) where he focuses on peopleofplay.com. He is eager to invent more games and is honored to receive the Roachy Fund Scholarship this year.
The Roachy Fund was established to honor Alan Roach, a loved and respected leader in the toy and game industry and part of our GPI family.
